I'm 24 years
old and was born and raised in the Bronx. At the age
of 10 I began writing poetry and use to win all types
of poetry contests in school. At this age I also
started listening to hip hop. I became very interested
in the music and started writing poetry less and
started writing rap lyrics more. At the age of 13, I
was battling all the local rappers whenever and
wherever, if it was in the corner store, the
barbershop or school I was there. My family didn’t
really approve of me rapping. They told me it wasn’t
gonna get me anywhere in life and that I should focus
more on school and eventually try and get a job.
So I got a
job, I started selling weed and coke to get by in
life. This is when the streets gave me the name
Jugganot, because they said I was juggling knots of
money wherever I went. When I was a junior in Evander
HS I was known for my freestyles and my rhymes. All
the local rappers were giving me credit telling me
“let’s link up”, “Let’s do a track together”. At this
point in my life I knew that I loved music and rapping
was something I wanted to do. So I stopped selling
drugs and looked to my rapping to open new doors for
me. I said if I’m going to do it big, I am going to do
It the right way.
I started
dedicating most of my time into music, my music. A lot
of people like to compare me to other rappers, I take
it as a compliment. I just want everyone to know that
I am just being me, and that is what I am bringing to
this rap game, my originality. When you hear me
rapping, there is no fronting, I'm not trying to sound
like no one, I am just being myself.
