Malverde Offers Free

As we close out 2011, there is much to be thankful for. As a
gesture of our gratitude for all the love and support we've
received, we humbly offer this "Live at Grand Performances" EP
as a free download. It was recorded live on Friday July 29,
2011 at California Plaza in downtown LA as part of the 25th
Annual Grand Performances Summer Concert Series.
It was definitely fitting
as the mission statement of this distinguished series is to
present free performing arts that reflect the best of global
culture and inspire community among the diverse peoples of Los
Angeles. Past performers have included Ozomatli, Kinky, La
Santa Cecilia and Nortec Collective to name a few.

Malverde, accompanied by his live band project Maleco
Collective ran through a set of 10 Hip-Hop, Rock, Reggae and
Electro infused songs that kept the audience moving. Sharing
the bill with Ghanaian born MC Blitz the Ambassador made for
an incredible night of global, socially-conscious Hip-Hop
music with live instrumentation. We feel fortunate to have
captured it and now, mixed and mastered, we are proud to share
it with you.
The socio-political anthem "Yo Soy La Voz" and the modern day
homage to the classic serenade "Serenata Para Ti" from Maleco
Collective's "Al Horizonte EP" and "Bienvenidos al Barrio,"
Malverde's Spanish remix of the Damian Marley classic "Jamrock"
come to life with a nine piece band made up of some of LA's
best musicians. These songs along with DJ Boxy Dee's scratch
intro serve as a taste of our live experience which we hope
you'll be part of soon!
With new projects in the works from Malverde and Maleco
Collective, there is much more to come in the New Year! May
