Artists
Gemstar and Bigmato have been heating up the airwaves
alongside Nina Sky, Tego Calderon and Noreaga (NORE)
with the blazing new track "Oye Mi Canto". The
warmup to this week's album debut began as a mixtape cut
and is the remix of "Toma Reggaeton" featuring NORE,
Gemstar, BigMato and Militainment. DJ Camilo was
the first DJ to premiere both songs on Hot97 on his
regular Saturday nights show "Take It to the Street"
those two songs opened the doors for his hosting the
first reggaeton radio show "Lights Out" on New York's
Hot97.

Gemstar & Bigmato were introduced to NORE eight months
ago by producer SPK after NORE returned from Puerto Rico
amped from the reggaeton movement. NORE's interest in
creating a entire Spanish album led SPK, his in-house
producer of 6 years, doing several reggaeton cuts.
SPK produced
several tracks before NORE asked him to bring Gemstar &
BigMato to the studio to do the song that would become "Toma
Reggaeton", which fueled NORE to go bigger with the
Reggaeton movement. "NORE asked me again for another
reggaeton track," SPK states, "and for me to bring Gemstar &
Bigmato to the lab again because he had this idea of a
reggaeton song featuring Nina Sky and some vocals from Tego
Calderon. We did the whole song in one night, really
with intention to make it an album cut for NORE's Spanish
album, and we had no idea the song was going to be this
huge." The video for the track is slated to be filmed
several weeks from now.
With the
positive feedback from the collaboration, NORE had Gemstar
and Bigmato made part of the The Thugged Out Militainment
along with SPK's SPKillaMuzik imprint. They will
release an independent album in september titled '"El Pure"
on SPKillaMuzik/Thugged Out Militainment. The album
will contain reggaeton and rap in both Spanish and English,
featuring artists such as Don Chezina, NORE, Willie Stubz,
and others.
