Baby Bash's
first release from Universal Records, Tha Smokin Nephew
has been RIAA certified for GOLD this week, with sales
over 500,000 copies. The CD continues to hold strong on
the Billboard Top 200 Album Chart displaying a steady
growth in sales after appearing on the chart for over 22
weeks.
To piggyback
from his recent success,
Baby Bash has gone back to lab
and is set to release Tha Smokin Nephew Chop and Screwed
March 4. |
The "chop and
screw" method is a popular Southern formula crafted by the
late DJ Screw, which slows down the track of every song
creating the ultimate car cruising rendition.
Baby Bash made his way on to the Billboard charts in his
first week of release with Tha Smokin Nephew. The hip-hop
newcomer entered at #48 on the Top Albums Chart and #24 on
the R&B/Hip-Hop Albums Chart.
The first single from Tha Smokin Nephew, "Suga Suga," has
been on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart for 25 weeks. "Suga
Suga" made upward moves from #10 before peaking at #7 on the
Hot 100 Airplay chart and #6 on the Mainstream Top 40 chart,
which Bash has remained on for over 20 weeks. "Suga Suga"
has also garnered top ten positions on the Rap Singles Chart
and Single Sales Chart where these positions held for more
than 4 weeks in a row.
