Now airing on NINE FM (99.9 WRZA / 92.7 WKIE / 92.5 WDEK) in Chicago every Sunday night, Midnight - 1AM, and continuing on Indie 103.1FM in Los Angeles every Tuesday night, from 10PM -Midnight, the cutting-edge English hosted show features music, interviews and live performances.

The first English-voiced commercial radio show highlighting Latin Alternative Rock, Hip-Hop, and Electronic music, The Red Zone is music-driven and focuses on artists that reflect the diversity of Latin alternative culture. The Red Zone debuted on Indie 103.1 FM in June 2004, and can now be heard on Chicago's NINE FM as of March 2005, with plans for syndication across the nation in the near future. The Red Zone can also be heard live on www.indie1031.fm Tuesdays 10PM - Midnight.

The Red Zone has created a new outlet for this music with airplay for major and up-and coming acts such as Cafe Tacuba, Julieta Venegas, Ivy Queen, Liquits, Gustavo Cerati, Tego Calderon, Babasonicos, Fabulosos Cadillacs, Los Abandoned, Nortec Collective and countless others. Additionally, The Red Zone has featured interviews and live performances by a broad range of leading acts such as Oscar winner Jorge Drexler, GRAMMY winning Ozomatli, Los Lobos and La Ley, as well as Plastilina Mosh, Molotov, Pitbull, Aterciopoelados, Mikel Erentxun, Delinquent Habits, Lucybell, David Garza, Volumen Cero, Ely Guerra and more.

The show caters to the vast potential listening audience in the US that wants to hear new music that reflects a bilingual culture. The Red Zone has received great early response from its listeners. Phone calls are received throughout the show vocalizing listeners' support for this unique program. Emails have been received from all over the world from its online listeners, with feedback and song requests received on a daily basis from listeners in cities across the U.S., as well as countries like Chile, Colombia, and Mexico.

Since its debut, there has been growing syndication interest for The Red Zone and plans to expand the show to additional key markets across the U.S., including New York, Miami, San Diego and Texas.

The Red Zone was created and developed by Chelina Vargas and Tomas Cookman of Cookman International. Indie 103.1 is owned by Entravision Communications, a Santa Monica, California, media company with fifty-eight stations nationwide.
