The largest spirit sponsored music festival in the
world, the BACARDI B-LIVE tour, makes its New York City
debut on September 22nd with a spectacular private concert
event featuring Sean Paul, Talib Kweli, Calle 13 and Mark
Ronson. These outstanding artists will collaborate for the
first time in an exhilarating performance at the Steiner
Studios in the Old Navy Yard in Brooklyn, New York.
Following exclusive, invitation only concerts across
America, including Miami and Las Vegas, now the BACARDI
B-LIVE tour arrives for the first time in the world’s mecca
of music, art and fashion.
“BACARDI B-LIVE is a 25-country global event. While each
event is unique, every concert delivers an individual,
one-of-a-kind, collaboration of legendary music artists,
great-tasting BACARDI Rum cocktails and an unforgettable
experience”, said Joe Metevier, BACARDI Rum Brand Director.
For The Big Apple, BACARDI B-LIVE has brought together a
sensational all-star lineup with international appeal: The
Ambassador of Dancehall Reggae, Sean Paul from Jamaica (plus
a special surprise guest); three time Latin Grammy award
winners Calle 13 from Puerto Rico known for their pulsating
blend of hip-hop, salsa, and jazz; trendsetting
artist/producer/DJ Mark Ronson from London; and Brooklyn’s
own critically acclaimed rapper Talib Kweli celebrating his
tenth anniversary as a recording artist. This dazzling
musical experience will be enhanced by a live visual art
show by innovative Cuban-American painter Lebo who is
returning home to the city where he was born.
In addition to this distinctive combination of music and
art, the invitation only BACARDI B-LIVE audience will enjoy
a cocktailing experience unlike any other at the “BACARDI
Avenue of Cocktails”. Attendees will be able to become a
“BACARDI Mix Master” by designing their own
custom signature BACARDI cocktail recipes at a special
computer-module live at the event, or online at
www.BLiveNY.com, then have that cocktail prepared by one of
the BACARDI Master Mixologists at the “BACARDI Mix Your Own”
bar. Other venues unique to BACARDI B-LIVE include the world
famous “BACARDI Mojito Cocktail Bar” and the “BACARDI Grand
Bar” featuring a mix of great-tasting BACARDI cocktails,
limited only by someone’s imagination.
BACARDI B-LIVE will benefit New York City by donating the
evening's proceeds to a local community organization for the
arts to be announced at a later date.
“This charitable endeavor is a natural extension of what
BACARDI B-LIVE is-a diverse collaboration of artists and
audience, dedicated to having a sensational time, while
benefiting the cultural community at large,” said Nick
Boyce, BACARDI Rum Senior Brand Manager. “In addition to our
charitable efforts, we are proud to support social
responsibility in all our experiential marketing efforts,”
added Boyce.

Video "El Mellao" Released
9/12/07 - LatinRapper.com/Sony BMG Latino release
That impossible to resist urban Latin hit song, “El Mellao,”
by Puerto Rican singer/songwriter Julio Ramos “Voltio,” can
now be enjoyed as a video!
Today, on the MTV3 network and Yahoo Musica, the video for
“El Mellao,” from Voltio’s upcoming new album, En Lo Claro,
will have its worldwide premiere. Dominican American video
director Marlon Peña, who has worked with some of urban
Latin music’s biggest stars, shot the video in Miami in
early August.
Voltio’s funny tale of a man without his front teeth, a “mellao,”
as he would be called in the artist’s native Puerto Rico, is
also a picaresque take on a woman wearing very tight pants.
As special guest star, the video features René Pérez, or
Residente, of Calle 13 fame.
En Lo Claro, to be released on November 20th, is bound to be
another smash for Voltio. The album features 15 brand new
songs and some incredible collaborations with Calle 13, Tego
Calderón, Jowell & Randy, Arcángel, Pirulo, Cucu Diamantes,
and Vivanativa.
The single “El Mellao,” its video and the album En Lo Claro,
are all high-voltage propositions from one of the biggest
names in urban Latin music today… Voltio.

urban Latin music, is on a promotional tour to support the
debut of the film "Illegal Tenders".
Directed by heralded filmmaker John Singleton, "Illegal
Tenders" marks the acting debut of Tego, whose maiden
thespian effort reveals another exciting facet of his
stellar career. The big-screen bow of this urban icon can be
appreciated on August. 24 when the picture comes out in
theaters across the country.
As part of the promotional tour of this dazzling
cinematic production, Tego was on hand recently with
Singleton and co-star Ricky Gonzalez at the BET Awards
ceremony, which took place at the celebrated Shrine
Auditorium in Los Angeles. The next stop on the promo

Awards.
El Abayarde ("The Fire Ant", as his also known, is
applying the final touches to his forthcoming disc "El

Machete
Music Shines at Premios Juventud
8/6/07 - LatinRapper.com
Machete Music continues to provide unforgettable and
mind-blowing performances at this year's Premios
Juventud, held at the Bank United Center in Miami last
night.
The purple carpet rocked with the catchy sounds of West
Coast rapper Down aka Kilo, who performed his hit "Lean
Like a Cholo", and for the first time, and as a special
performance for PJ, he did it in Spanish! Fans couldn't
contain their excitement wearing "cholo" masks as three
low riders bicycles and tricycles cruised around the
stage.
Once the show began, it took on a whole new level when
Hector "El Father", joined by Toby Love and Victor
Manuel, took the stage to perform the hit "Sola". With a
massive pyrotechnic display and female dancers
resembling something like hourglass figurines, the four
minute long performance ended with a bang as the three
men performed bits a pieces of the songs showcasing
their own genres until finally they got together to
finish it reggaetón-style!
But the highlight of the night came with the surprise
performance by Don Omar and Wisin y Yandel. Together for
the first time in many years, and as if coming out of a
sci-fi movie, the three reggaeton greats stepped out of
the science lab where the "perfect combination had
finally been accomplished". The two-song medley began
with the hit "MySpace", but with a twist as it was
called "Mi Pagina". As if on cue, at the sound of the
alarm, Don Omar and Wisin y Yandel ran over to the other
side of the stage where they were greeted by a full
salsa band. "Nadie Como Tu", in its new reincarnation as
a salsa song, put the icing on the cake of what is,
undeniably, going to become a legendary performance.
Machete Music took home 3 awards in the following
categories:
"The perfect combination" for Noche de Entierro
(Luny Tunes/Wisin Y Yandel/Hector "El Father"/Tony Tun
Tun)
"The Catchiest Tune" for Pegao
(Wisin Y Yandel)
"Favorite Video" for Noche de Entierro
(Luny Tunes/Wisin Y Yandel/Hector "El Father"/Tony Tun
Tun)
Wisin y Yandel's highly popular "Los Vaqueros" is going
wild with the new Wild Wild Mixes. The album will hit
stores Tuesday July 24, 2007
This new remix CD and DVD includes 21 songs in total,
including a new version of the hit "Yo Te Quiero" with
Jayko, Wisin y Yandel's newest addition to the WY
Records family; also featured is "La Pared" and "Nadie
como Tu", with Don Omar; "Bien Sudao" by Tony Dize, and
"El Telefono" with Hector "El Father", to name a few.
The remixes include: "Un Viaje", "Pegao", "El Teléfono",
"Dame un Kiss", "Quizás" and "Yo Te Quiero" with Luis
Fonsi. Nesty and Victor El Nasi did most
of the remixes.
As a bonus feature, the album contains an extra DVD with
four exclusive videos, including: "Yo te Quiero", "Quizás",
"Dame un Kiss" and "Pegao". This is the second release
by WY Records/Machete Music, following the success of
the platinum-selling album "Los Vaqueros" released in
2006. "Los Vaqueros" was recently nominated as "Cd I
can't live without" at Premios Juventud, where Wisin Y
Yandel took home three awards for "The Perfect
Combination" (Noche de Entierro), "Catchiest Tune" for "Pegao"
and "Favorite Video" for "Noche de Entierro".
Wisin y Yandel have come a long way from their humble
beginnings in Puerto Rico, becoming one of the biggest
reggaetón acts in the world, better yet, becoming "el
dúo de la historia" (the duo making history). And make
no mistake about it, it is a well deserved title; they
became the first performers to break attendance records
in Puerto Rico by selling out multiple nights in a row
at the Coliseo José Miguel Agrelot; first reggaetón act
to sell out New York City's Radio City Music Hall;
became the first Latin act to place 4 songs ("Llamé
Pa'Verte", "Noche De Sexo", "Rakata" and "Mayor Que Yo")
on the Top 10 of the 'Latin Chart' during the same week.
Hector el Father to Become Doctor
8/6/07 - LatinRapper.com
Reggaeton star HECTOR 'EL FATHER' has announced he will
quit music in the next five years - to become a doctor.
The 28-year-old Puerto Rican has always dreamed of
studying medicine and is determined to become a fully
fledged doctor by the time he is 40. El Father intends
to walk away from his singing career to study pediatrics
at the Santo Domingo Medical School in the Dominican
Republic.
He
says, "This is a goal that, believe me, I'll reach. My
career is at its peak, but I've checked up a lot on this,
and Santo Domingo has one of the best medical schools." He
has already started preparing for working with children, by
injecting his six-year-old diabetic son Joel 'Ticoa Delgado
Carrasquillo with insulin.
El Father adds, "I don't have a problem with blood or
needles. Tico is diabetic and I have to give him his shots,
draw blood, and take care of him. "I love kids. I have 15
nieces and nephews and I'm very patient. That's why I really
like pediatrics and within five years I'm going to start
studying medicine. I want to be a doctor; I want to be a
pediatrician."

While the Grammy-winning duo Calle 13 hails from the
musical hot spot known as Puerto Rico, it would be
incorrect to refer to them simply as reggaeton artists.
René Pérez aka “Residente” drops rhymes in Spanish over
an eclectic variety of beats courtesy of his stepbrother
Eduardo José Cabra Martínez aka “Visitante.” While
only a fourth of the tracks fit the reggaeton genre,
Residente's lyrical content definitely moves beyond
what's expected by painting vivid and sometimes comical
mental images with his music. Their new album

Calle 13
Return with "Tango del Pecado"
3/21/07 - LatinRapper.com/ Voy
“Tango del pecado” Finds The Innovative Latin
Urban-Alternative Duo Team With Two-Time Oscar Winning
Producer Gustavo Santalolla & His Bajafondo Tango Club
Collective For A Dark/Satiric Look At Morality vs.
Immorality In Forbidden Love.
As One Of The Most Visually Inventive Groups In Latin
Music, Video Channels Are Rushing To Once Again Support
CALLE 13’s New Single/Video, As MTV Tr3s Has Named The Duo
“Artist of the Month” For March (Including A MiTRL Broadcast
on March 5 & “Calle 13 Weekend” March 24-25), While Mun2
Will Premiere “Day In, Day Out With Calle 13” on March 3.
CALLE 13 were Latin music’s unquestioned breakout stars of
2006, unleashing a lyrically satiric and visually inventive
new urban-alternative fusion of funk, hip-hop, reggaeton,
rock, salsa (and so much more), that catapulted the
irreverent pair of half-brothers to great critical praise,
constant Latin video rotation, and a Triple-LATIN GRAMMY
winning culmination that saw “Residente” and “Visitante”
walk off with the awards for “Best New Artist,” “Best Urban
Artist,” and “Best Music Video.”
Now, Calle 13 returns and is prepared to push the envelope
of “Latin music” even further. In advance of the planned
April 24th release of eagerly-awaited second album Residente
o Visitante, CALLE 13 has unveiled first single “Tango del
pecado” (“Tango of Sin”). With CALLE 13 collaborating with
double-Oscar and multiple Grammy winning producer Gustavo
Santaolalla and his Bajafondo Tango Club collective, the
track fuses elements of reggaeton with Argentine tango for a
dark look at a forbidden romance. With Residente citing the
Rubén Blades classic ‘Ligia Elena’ as an influence, where an
affluent girl falls for a poor musician – despite the scorn
of her family, the song is a satire on “the fine line
between what is moral and immoral in a love no one approves
of.” In keeping with Calle 13’s tradition of inventive
video’s inspired by their art/film school background, the
video clip for “Tango del pecado” (with the duo once again
working with directors Gabriel Coss and Israel Lugo) tells
“the story of a catastrophe,” at the wedding between a
coarse artist (Residente) and an elegant beauty, known as
the Queen of the Universe (Residente’s real-life girlfriend:
former Miss Universe Denise Quiñones) in what turns out to
be a Latin American spoof of a “Romeo and Juliet” love
story. Look closely at the wedding party for cameos from
reggaeton stars Tego Calderón and Julio Voltio.
Of course, multiple Latin video outlets are rushing to
support “Tango del pecado,” as MTV Tr3s has named CALLE 13
as “Artist of the Month” for March (including A MiTRL
broadcast on March 5 & “Calle 13 Weekend” March 24-25),
while Mun2 will premiere “Day In, Day Out With Calle 13” on
March 3.

"El Duo de la Historia" (History's Duo) Wisin & Yandel have
once again made history by establishing a world record in
ticket sales as well as in the number of people that visited
Pepsimundo.com to view a webcast of their concert. Wisin &
Yandel had over 300,000 people visit the Pepsimundo website

soda bottles that would enable them to register and view the
concert. Consumers were also allowed to vote for the city in
which the event would be held. The concerts were held in
Trujillo and Lima.
Mirko Astudillo, marketing manager for Pepsi's soft drinks
Andean region said the company had executed similar
promotions in the past. Their most successful one to date
had been a promotion with Colombian super star Juanes, where
they registered about 45,000 users. They will be using this
model for other promotional opportunities in various South
American countries.
Alejandro Gonzalez, general manager of Kandavu Producciones,
the promoter in charge of both events in Peru said "it was
the first time in history that an artist completely sells
out the Jockey Club in Lima, Peru and thousand mores were
left outside". 37,000 tickets were sold for the Wisin &
Yandel show.
The show also featured 2 members of "Los Vaqueros", Franco
el Gorilla and Gadiel. Franco sang his most recent hit "Dame
un Kiss" along side with the duo while Gadiel sang "Eléctrica"
and "Un Viaje".
After departing Peru, the duo joined reggaetons' biggest
star Don Omar for a show in Santiago de Chile's Estadio
Nacional in front of 80,000 people. Later on Wisin & Yandel
will visit Venezuela and will then head to Spain to shoot
the video for "Torres de Babel" with David Bisbal.

Last week, the Puerto Rican singer Tito “El Bambino,”
one of the most popular reggaeton stars in Latin America
thanks to his recent album “Top of the Line,” started the
tour that will take him to Peru, Ecuador, Guatemala, Panama,
Nicaragua, Colombia, and cities in the United States. Radios
where you may find this artist: St. Valentine, Pop Hits,
Reggaeton.
“By the grace of God, Central and South America have
been the strategic points in my career. When we go to those
countries it gets absolutely crazy and we need all the
strength we have,” the musician told the newspaper El Nuevo
Día. “For me, it’s a blessing that Latinos have been able to
identify with my music and that when they go to my concert,
they forget all the problems or crises that may exist in
that place,” the singer added.
Tito “El Bambino” said that his style doesn’t answer to
fashion, but rather to his Christian faith: “What I’ve tried
to do is live a life that thanks God and my family. He’s the
one that blesses me,” said the artist. He also said he’s
very curious about the message young people get from his
songs: “I don’t push doctrines on anybody. I tell the truth
and anyone can listen to the songs I make because they
aren’t offensive,” said ‘El Bambino.’

Hector
el Father's "Sola" #1 in the Nation on Billboard's Latin
Charts
1/22/07 - LatinRapper.com/Machete Music press release
Reggaeton superstar Héctor "El Father" has positioned
himself at the top of the Billboard Charts with "Sola", the
first single off his current production, "The Bad Boy" (VI
Music/machete Music). The talented artist takes the reign
from superstars Ricky Martin and Maná, with the #1 position
on the following charts: ‘Hot Latin Songs’, ‘Latin Tropical
Airplay’ and ‘Latin Rhythm Airplay’.
“Without a doubt, this is one of the biggest accomplishments
in my career as an artist. The massive response that the
song "Sola" has received, fills me with great satisfaction.
I would like to thank the radio for the incredible support
that they have given me and above all, to the fans, which
are the reason for all of my success".. expressed the
artist/producer.
Hector "El Father" was recently at Palmares, a city in Costa
Rica, at an event where more than 30 thousand patrons sang
and danced to all of his songs, when he took over the stage.
"El Father's" future plans include a massive concert at the
Choliseo in Puerto Rico on January 26, the filming of his
next video "Maldades", and a busy concert schedule
throughout the United States and Latin America.
“The Bad Boy”, produced by "El Father", contains 18 songs
that show a more romantic, mature, Hector. Definitely, a
Hector that the public has not seen yet. Some of the musical
producers on this album include a Tainy, Mambo Kingz, and
Mekka.
Groundbreaking Latin/Urban Music Label Urban Box Office
(UBO) Ceases Operation
12/7/06 - LatinRapper.com/UBO press release
Having Achieved Tremendous Chart Successes While Updating
And Transforming Music Marketing With An Aggressive "In-The
Community & On-The Streets" Outreach Model That Brought New
Music Directly To The People, UBO Will Live On In The
Enduring Success Of Releases Such As The Genre Defining
Chosen Few: El Documental Reggaeton Compilations, The
International Attention Of The "Nuestro Himno"/ Somos
Americanos Project, And Artists Such As Andy Andy, Tempo &
Many More
Although recently cited by Billboard as the label "behind
some of the most successful Latin releases of the past
year," innovative Latin/Urban music company URBAN BOX OFFICE
(UBO) is ceasing operations immediately as it failed to find
funding to support its planned 2007 release schedule which
included new albums from the legendary Tempo (featuring
collaborations with Daddy Yankee, Wisin y Yandel, Tego
Calderon, Pitbull, Fat Joe, Hector "El Father" and the
London Symphony Orchestra), as well as Andy Andy, Reggaeton
Ninos, LDA, Tony Sunshine and El Draft 2007.
Statement From Adam Kidron, UBO President & CEO:
"While I am proud, very proud, of the energy, optimism and
innovation we brought to the business of music I am terribly
disappointed not to have the opportunity to finish the job,
and concerned that our failure may give more ammunition to
those who say that radical change is not possible. If I was
fortunate enough to have the opportunity to do it again, I
would not change the selection of artists for they have been
magnificent; nor would I tinker with the Freedom model that
gives those artists the right to own their own masters, but
I would more militantly control our own costs so that the
$10, $8, & $6 CDs that we have proven consumers want were
commercial as well as marketing realities. I would like to
take this opportunity to thank our vendors, our artists and
most of all our employees for their resilience, brilliance,
belief, and add that I am profoundly sorry that I have not
been able to deliver a win.
Having played an essential role in the explosive growth of
reggaeton as the genre's #1 charting independent label, and
having redefined approaches to Latin music retail &
marketing by both formulating an aggressive "In-The
Community & On-The Streets" outreach model and
simultaneously supporting progressive charitable causes
benefiting those same communities, UBO will be remembered
for breaking new ground with a number of inventive releases.
Some of their pioneering projects & initiatives included:
Producer Boy Wonder's Chosen Few: El Documental CD & DVD:
The Latin Music Industry's #1 selling Reggaeton compilation,
winner of a Billboard Latin Music Award and critically
praised documentary that was adapted as the first-ever
Reggaeton special on MTV.
Spearheading the FREE TEMPO Campaign: UBO undertook a lead
role of both organization and support for the campaign to
free pioneering Latin Urban artist TEMPO. Supported by all
the major stars of Reggaeton and numerous social
organizations such as the NAACP, the Free Tempo Campaign
seeks the release of the groundbreaking young Puerto Rican
artist who was falsely accused and unjustly imprisoned on
federal narcotics conspiracy charges without any supporting
physical evidence. The campaign has both developed a strong
Appellant's Brief for upcoming consideration by the Federal
Court of Appeals, and provided Tempo the opportunity to
record an awaited new album.
Concluding the passionate work of UBO, Adam Kidron
summarizes that "In the sense that nothing ever dies, UBO
will live on in the future accomplishments of the artists
that we helped launch. We are fiercely proud of the new
trails we were able to help them blaze and remain convinced
that the only way to meet today's new industry challenges
such as download, sharing, bootlegging and more, is to grow
the overall market through better and less expensive
products"
Alexis y

Family.
Machete Music is the fastest growing music label in the past
year and has made a significant impact in the overall market
share of Latin sales in the U.S.
vanguardia y estableciendo sendas diferencias a otras
Music presenta el nuevo disco “Gárgolas 5: The Next
Generation”.
incomparable: Tego Calderón, Wisin, Zion, Rakim & Ken-Y,
Randy, Arcángel y De La Ghetto, Franco “El Gorila”,
Valentino, Fussion Music, Nicky Jam, Gocho, Angel Doze,

Unlike some rappers who rest on their laurels, that "Lil
Chico" from the M.I.A. stayed on the grind with mixtapes
and guest appearances. The Cubano struck gold with
his TVT debut, and this time around may outdo his past
success with his new album "El Mariel", which drops
October 31st, Pitbull took time to speak with
Latin Rapper about the new CD, his 2007 all-Spanish CD

Don Omar
Announces First Ever U.S. Headlining Tour
9/27/06 - LatinRapper.com/Susan Blond Inc release
Platinum-selling
Latin superstar and Machete Music recording artist Don Omar,
whose phenomenally successful album King of Kings recently
celebrated its 15th consecutive week at #1 on Billboard’s
Top Latin Albums chart, today announced his first-ever
headlining tour in the United States, titled the King of
Kings Tour. Just nominated for a 2006 American Music Award
for “Favorite Latin Music Artist,” Don Omar released King of
Kings to widespread critical acclaim on May 23, 2006 and
debuted at #7 on The Billboard 200, expanding the boundaries
of reggaeton music and cementing his status as one of
today’s most compelling artists.
A multi-million dollar stage production by Latin
Entertainment Group, Don Omar’s King of Kings Tour is set to
kick off on October 13, 2006 in Atlanta, GA and will
culminate with two consecutive performances in Don Omar’s
native Puerto Rico on December 1-2, 2006.
Don Omar’s King of Kings Tour, a three-act debut of live
music and theatrics, will bring to life the artistic and
spiritual themes prevalent throughout the star’s latest
ground-breaking album and shatter the boundaries of
reggaeton even further, boasting an unprecedented scale of
production typically associated with today’s top mainstream
artists. The show’s narrative, a post-apocalyptic urban
experience, will be conveyed through theatrical,
gothic-inspired set-design and spectacularly choreographed
scenes of dancing and swordfights performed by a cast of
over a dozen performers costumed as warriors. At the center
of it all will be Don Omar, performing his hits from King of
Kings, including “Angelito,” “Salió El Sol,” and “Conteo,”
as well as classics like “Pobre Diabla,” Reggaeton Latino,”
and “Dale Don Dale.” Legendary bachata group Aventura and
rising reggaeton duo Rakim y Ken-Y will join Don Omar as the
opening act for select dates of the tour, bringing together
three of today’s biggest stars in contemporary Latin music.
"I've always envisioned the King of Kings project as my
opportunity to push beyond the limits of reggaeton and bring
a new level of artistry and innovation to my music," said
Don Omar. "I am thrilled to have the opportunity to bring
this vision to life now with an incredible live show for my
fans across the United States."

and prolific forces in contemporary Latin music, Don Omar is
a multi-platinum selling, award-winning artist and a pioneer
in the explosive reggaeton movement. After bursting onto the
scene in 2003 with his platinum-selling solo debut, The Last
Don, Don Omar released his second chart-topping album, King
of Kings, in 2006, establishing himself a true artist who
eloquently fuses classic and contemporary styles in Latin

Reggaeton
with Spanish Flair
9/17/06 - LatinRapper.com/AR Entertainment release
Innovation is the distinctive mark of K-Narias, a duet
made up of Spanish twins Gara and Loyda. They are the
first exponents of the reggaeton genre in their native
country, with a fresh approach that fuses the popular
beat with the more tropical sounds of the salsa and
merengue.
After having won Gold Records and sold out concerts in
their native land, K-NARIAS are ready to crossover to
the U.S. supported by UBO (Urban Box Office) which is
releasing their album at the end of the year.
Their first single to be released from the album is "No te
vistas que no vas" an upbeat reggaeton song mixed with salsa
flair. The twins, now 20 years-old, started their
artistic career at the age of 12 taking singing, dance and
guitar lessons. Later on they started to work as backup
dancers with renowned artists in their region, until they
were invited to participate in the festival called "Reggaetuning
2004" in November 2004. In this festival they saw, for the
first time, the Puerto Rican reggaeton artist Don Omar, who
inspired them to focus on the reggaeton genre. During this
event, the producers Carlos Zerolo and Folfo Camacho spotted
their genuine talent and invited them to audition in Madrid
with the producers of Don Omar, Eliel and Mario Rivera.
