The International Songwriting Competition (ISC) is pleased to announce that it has added a Latin Music category to the 2006 competition. One of the largest and most prestigious songwriting competitions in the world, ISC welcomes original songs from musicians, artists, and songwriters at every level from amateur to professional. ISC gives away over $150,000 in cash and prizes, including an Overall Grand Prize package of $25,000 (US) in cash and over $20,000 in merchandise, unmatched by any other songwriting competition.

ISC winners benefit from extensive press and publicity, gaining exposure and recognition from an international music market of industry professionals and fans.  In addition to the Latin category, ISC offers 17 other categories, including: Jazz, Pop/Top 40, AAA (Adult Album Alternative), Rock, Country, Americana, R&B/Hip-Hop, Blues, Folk/Singer-Songwriter, Gospel/Christian, Instrumental, Dance/Electronica, World Music, Children's Music, Lyrics Only, Teen, and Performance. Entrants may submit as many songs as they wish in the same category or in multiple categories.

ISC provides the perfect opportunity for bands, artists, and songwriters looking to gain more exposure in the music industry and have their songs heard by some of the most influential members of the music industry. "We've always been impressed with the talented songwriters who participate in the ISC. This is a great A&R source to find new artists," states Monte Lipman (President of Universal Records and 2006 ISC judge).

In addition to the great prizes and extensive exposure, ISC is renowned for having the most prestigious judging panel of any competition in the world. Its judges include high-profile recording artists and respected music executives.

Latin music entries are judged by influential Latin music industry professionals, including Angel Carrasco (President of 605 Discos and Sr. VP of A&R, Sony BMG Latin America), Betty Pino (DJ, WAMR Miami, and pioneer of Latin music radio) and Manolo Gonzales (Sr. VP of Regional Mexican A&R and National Promotion, Univision Records) as well as additional members of the ISC judging panel.
